How many times have you said “I’ll wait for the perfect moment” or “the timing isn’t right” when you look at things you want to do
The answer, is probably too many times and you should do something about that.
I’m as guilty as everyone else when it comes to getting things done and always procrastinating on when the right time or perfect moment to go on that holiday, buy that item, book that dinner with family or ask out the beautiful girl who I can’t get off my mind. I don’t like the word regret, as I don’t feel we should regret anything as we learn from every experience, however the word itself does strike fear in me sometimes.
A great deal of my thinking has been powered to living in the moment for the last 18 months, there are pro’s and con’s to this, but it makes me act to do the things I want quicker now. Lets be honest, none of us are guaranteed a tomorrow and if we do get there, we never know what’s going to happen — I don’t want that to be a morbid statement but more of a call to action to stop putting off the things you want to do.
I reflect on previous events and wonder why I didn’t or never acted on things I wanted to do, why did I always believe I needed to wait for the next partner until I went on that international adventure, why did I fear not going to a concert because I was waiting to find the right friends?. I don’t look at these as regrets, I look at these events as reminders to live in the now, find the things I love, do them and cherish the memories as life is happening right now — so live it.
