I am not a Writer
True story – I’m not a writer, I’m a guy with a phone in my hand writing my thoughts to you in the form of words. I’m not qualified for this but neither is anyone else and that’s the beauty of this whole writing thing – anyone can do it, even you.
I work a corporate job that I absolutely love (most of the time) and I don’t write because I want to be a writer, I mean I enjoy the hell out of it but I don’t identify myself a writer in any form – I’m just here to share my experiences and maybe some of you will learn from it.
I see lots of stories on here about quitting your job or how to make loads of money by writing on medium but that doesn’t interest me. I mean if your whole purpose is to use your passion of writing to hoodwink people with a bunch of listicles and the thousandth article on why you should quit your job – doesn’t that defeat the point of writing for the right reasons in the first place, I’m having some serious mind bombs in my head right now.
What’s this all about?
My random thoughts of today probably, but really it’s a message of reassurance.
You don’t have to be a writer to write
I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, I hold no formal writing qualifications or journalism degree but I’ll tell you what I do have – thoughts, opinions, experiences and access to a keyboard. You don’t need to be a writer contribute on medium or any platform, you just need a pulse and half a brain (maybe less).
We all have freedom of expression and writing is one of our greatest outlets to share, inspire, motivate and let your message be heard.
So if your thinking “oh I could never write like this” well think again as I’m doing it, so you can too.
